McCook Family Christmas Party

Each year we get together for "scones" and for the children to act out the Nativity. We have alot of fun and the kids are awesome how they protray the birth of baby Jesus. As you can see baby Jesus was very happy that night!

For the past 2 1/2 months I've enjoyed having Carolee and kids with me. It's been wonderful, and now the time as come to send them back to Erie ... I will miss them terribly, but glad they can be back as a family. Now I'll look forward to seeing Lyla in a few weeks.

Bill and I are blessed that we live close to so many family members. We LOVE our family.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Thanksgiving a little early

We celebrated Thanksgiving a few weeks early since Carolee and Melissa are in town. We had it at Kristen and Todd's house. It was so fun. The kids played so hard and had such a good time together. I'm very very blessed to have such a wonderful family. Here are a few pictures to show our good time. We really missed Candice and Troy and Lyla.
We are also sure enjoying having Carolee and kids here with us. What will I do when no one is here ?

A special Day

It's always a wonderful day when someone gets baptized, but it's even more special when it's a GRANDdaughter. Kate LaRee Thompson was baptized by her dad last week. She's a sweet little gal, full of fun. Here are some pictures from her special day.

WE are also enjoying having everyone here. The cousins have so much fun with each other. They play hard and by the end of the day they are exhausted! Trenton is already telling me he doesn't want to go back to Erie.

Not much going on

Well, September is almost gone, it's been a good month, however a bit lonesome with Joy and the kids gone. We are looking forward to new neighbors Tom and Robyn Hanks will be moving in hopefully in a month.
I'm so anxious for Carolee and kids to come and stay for a while. I'm sorry that they have to be apart from thier Dad. Jeff is truly a hero of mine with his hard hard road on the path to being a Dr.
I'm way anxious for some cool fall weather. Today it's 107 sheeeesh, that is hot!

not much else going on these days, but always looking forward to tomorrow.

39 years together

September 2nd 1971 was the day Bill and I were married in the Mesa Temple. Wow, what a special day it was. How do you sum up 39 years, 6 children and 19 grandchildren? well, it's been wonderful, fabulous, sometimes very hard, but a real growing experience and I wouldn't trade anything about it. ( well maybe a few times raising the kids)
I can't imagine going through this with anyone but Bill. He has been patient with me and very loving to me too. I'm so very grateful for eternal marriage. I love my family so much. Each one of my children are very special. Each one is different, I'm proud of them of thier love for thier own families, and for thier desire to raise a good family.
This is a wonderful time of my life. I"m so very grateful to have such a wonderful partner to be with. I love each day with Billy boy.

What a wonderful day it was! A beautiful day and i've just never seen my daughter so happy and in love. Rick will be a wonderful husband and father. The reception was also beautiful and thank you to many dear friends who drove out to see them on their special day.

We feel very blessed indeed.

The lucky couple are now off to Cancun for a week of fun and relaxation.

She's leaving

Yep, I'm dealing with my daughter getting married ( again) It's really a happy occasion, we Love Rick, he's a great man, and will make her happy, BUT he's taking her a way ! She has lived next to me for 4 years, and before that about 10 years 2 blocks away. Oh how I'll miss seeing her every day. We mom's just like seeing our kids on a daily basis don't you all agree?

I'll miss having her pop over, to see what I fixed for dinner. ( and love my food)

I'll miss having someone to talk to when Bill is usually gone

I'll miss going over to her house when I'm bored and washing her dishes or folding her endless pile of laundry.

I'll miss watering her plants that always need my attention

I'll miss my grandchildren

I'll miss her help that she gives me in making my house sparkle when company is coming.

I'll miss being able to borrow some milk or eggs, or ask her to pick up something at the store for me

I'll miss just knowing she is near by.
okay, I need to stop being sad, really I'm so grateful for her temple marriage this Saturday, but for a moment, I'm going to let myself shed a few tears and then I'll be okay
